Thankfulness

In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out.  It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being.  We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.  ~Albert Schweitzer

A friend is one of the nicest things you can have, and one of the best things you can be.  ~Douglas Pagels

Good morning friends and Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope each of you have a wonderful holiday.

As I start to reflect back on this year and think of the things that I have to be thankful for, I have to say that this group, each of you members that I actually know, is what I am most thankful for.

Life is not easy.  Being single in our 50's makes it even harder.  Making and nurturing friendships is even harder at this age.  So when I reflect back on my year, I see the one thing that has truly enhanced MY life over this last year....all of you!!!!

In this last year, our group has taken a true turn for the better.  I have become a better person in my own right and that made the change in where this group is going and will go for the future.  We all have internal housekeeping that needs to be done periodically.  Sometimes it is a little light dusting and sometimes we simply need a major overhaul.  I think that I needed an internal overhaul.

For some reason, this year, that took place.  Where I was going and who I was going with changed dramatically and drastically.  Not all experiences will bring out such change.  We either learn the lesson or we are doomed to repeat it.  The one lesson that I did learn in a huge way is that the only person that I have to depend upon in my life is me.  I don't need someone else to make me feel whole.  THAT was huge for me.

I suppose many of you are finding that to be true for yourselves.  For me it was a long and difficult journey. I have found my own power within and now I know what I should be doing and WHY I should be doing it! This group and what is happening in it, is my mission and I know who I am going with and where I am going to!

I do truly believe that I have found my true purpose in life.  THAT in itself is huge!  I also believe that by changing my life, I have helped others make changes in their lives and for me that is HUGE!  That is my "payoff".  THAT is what "fills my tank".

It is wonderful to attend our events.  I love the warmth and friendships that have erupted since the early summer.  I like and enjoy being around the members of this group.

It is amazing to me when I am doing a workshop or hosting any event and I look around and see the caliber and quality of the people.  This group has quality people that are warm, friendly and welcoming to others.  I am truly proud of what we have become as a group and where we are going.

So friends….Thank you for all the wonderful things that you bring by being a member of this group.  You enhance and cause change in other’s lives.

I am thankful for YOU.
