Are you interested in exploring the rivers of the western United States? Willing to meet new people and have new experiences? Want to have an “Adventure of a Lifetime" every summer! If you answered yes to at least one of these then this is the group for you. This group is for experienced river runners that have their own whitewater inflatables, i.g. rafts, catarafts, duckies, Stand Up Paddleboards (SUP) including anything that is capable of navigating Class II and higher white water. We will be going on trips from an after work runs on Clear Creek to multi-week excursion like the Grand Canyon of the Colorado. This is a group for all skill levels and interests, from easy class II whitewater to the pulse pounding water of Class V Gore Canyon.
This group started with two goals in mind. The primary goal was to create a place where like-minded River Rats can get to together, create and recreate spectacular trips on the beautiful rivers that we have at our fingertip here in the West.
The second, equally important, goal is to provide a place that people can learn and practice boating and safety skills to improve their time and safety on the water. We are NOT an accredited training program and do not conduct any king of organized "TRAINING".
We provide an environment and culture that promote shared experiences and knowledge for the betterment of the community. We are looking to build a social, fun, and eccentric group of boaters to get out and play on a consistent basis. Our membership has a wide and varied background and experiences levels. We want to go out and have fun on the river while keeping to the principles of resource stewardship.
We are not a commercial outfitter, all trip are full cost sharing and you must have your own equipment to participate, we do not rent equipment. You are responsible for your own safety! Whitewater river running is a dangerous activity and you should assess you own skill level before participating in any trips or activities. This is a non-profit group of recreational boaters.
To participate in a trip with in this group there are a few steps that everyone will have to fulfill before you get on certain trips. The first step is that you will have to join one of our social events so that we can meet in person and talk about your skills and what you are looking to get out of the group. Second you will have to participate in a class II float trip.
Let's get together and coordinate our permit submissions for 2019, hopefully the government will be open by then ;-) We will meet at my place and talk trips and date ranges.
Please bring a appetizer to pass and your favorite beverage.
