Blackout Poetry with Banned Books
MUST CALL THE LIBRARY AT[masked] TO REGISTER FOR THIS FREE EVENT. ADULTS 18+ ONLY. The words for blackout poems are already written on the page, but it’s up to the blackout poet to bring new meaning and life to these words. Blackout poems can be created using the pages of old books or even articles cut from yesterday’s newspaper. Using the pages of an existing text, blackout poets isolate then piece together single words or short phrases from these texts to create lyrical masterpieces. Blackout poems, as I’m sure you can imagine, run the gamut from absurd to sublime because all of the words are already there on the page, but the randomness is all part of the fun! What we're about

As a Frugal Fun Seeker, you'll find our meetups consist mainly of FREE or inexpensive cultural, educational or just plain FUN events, clinics, workshops and speaking engagements etc. Most of these meetups will be located in & around the cities of Conway, Mayflower, Maumelle and Little Rock, but some will take place outside these areas, as well.

The mission of this group is to provide a positive atmosphere and fun ways to nurture new friendships. Maybe you're new to the area. Maybe it's hard to meet new people. Maybe you're an empty-nester who is interested in making new friends so you can quit dragging your spouse from one event to another. My hope is that this group will allow you to meet some new people with similar interests so that together you can share some life experiences that - for whatever reason - you may not have had yet or aren't able to enjoy very often.

This is where I ask ALL MEMBERS to BE RESPONSIBLE ADULTS, showing CONSIDERATION not only to other members, but to the venues from which we secure reserved seats in a limited seating situation or from which we may have received special privileges for our group, and lastly for me, your organizer, who researches activities and tries to plan a good variety of safe meetups. IT IS VERY SIMPLE. Just because you may have an "interest" in something does not mean you need to immediately click to RSVP "Yes". Take a second to THINK ABOUT IT first, and whether or not you will likely attend. If yes, then by all means, CLICK IT! :) If you seriously PLAN TO ATTEND but something comes up at the last minute, take 2 seconds to CHANGE YOUR RSVP to " NO", so the rest of the members attending won't be waiting for and saving seats for no-shows. Please email me with any suggestions you might have for future Meetups, so we can have a good variety of activities and events that appeal to the masses... a "Something For Everyone" sort of group. I look forward to meeting and building fun, new friendships with as many of you as possible!

As the group organizer...

My intent is to provide information that helps individuals, couples and families on a budget find affordable fun in the area. I may or may not be attending each meetup, but everyone should still free to attend and to look for other members who have also RSVP'd to attend. This will be fun! AND affordable.
