Our speakers:
Bill Ingram
Founded his 1st successful business in his late twenties - Blue Glue. BlueGlue helped grow some of the most successful disruptive digital businesses in the UK – LOVEFiLM, ZOOPLA, Funding Circle, CrowdCube, Photobox etc etc working alongside a host of VC’s but without taking a single penny of outside investment…until I sold the business to a large American (Private Equity owned) business out of Boston. Currently launching his latest venture www.sponsure.com (http://www.sponsure.com/) where he is looking at disrupting the multi-billion dollar sports sponsorship business globally. He loves gin, any sport. Lives with his wife, 3 kids, 2 dogs , cat, hamster and lama.
Richard Blakesley
So where do you want to start? Richard's got a few stories to tell. The one about the building materials factory in Sri Lanka built on a flood plain maybe? Or the amazing superconductors business next to a cheese factory on the perimeter fence at Luton Airport? He definitely wants to tell you about the hedge fund that started up one month before Lehman Brothers declared bankruptcy. And the launch of Africa's first low-cost airline makes a good yarn too.
Richard Blakesley runs Capital Pilot, helping young and ambitious tech founders to get smart about the funding process, find the right investors for their businesses - and hopefully learn from his experiences in 12 startups too. Based in London but covering the UK, Richard works and hikes. And loves both.
All mixed up with some informal networking and financial experts will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
What is FUN? - Fuckup Nights is a global movement born in Mexico in 2012 to share publicly business failure stories. Hundreds of people attend each event to hear three to four entrepreneurs share their failures. Each speaker is given 7 minutes and is able to use 10 images. After each speaker, there’s a question/answer session, as well as time for networking (beers).
