## Talk 1: Intro to Serverless Framework

The Serverless Framework helps you develop and deploy your AWS Lambda functions, along with the AWS infrastructure resources they require. It's a CLI that offers structure, automation and best practices out-of-the-box, allowing you to focus on building sophisticated, event-driven, serverless architectures, comprised of Functions and Events.

The Serverless Framework is different from other application frameworks because:

• It manages your code as well as your infrastructure
• It supports multiple languages (Node.js, Python, Java, and more)

## Talk 2: Building candidate approval process with PHP, Laravel, Mailgun and Auth0

In this talk we'll go over how the employbl.com candidate registration system works to approve candidates, send emails and ensure security with social login. This should help provide insight into a production SaaS system and how technical recruiters approach their 9-5.

## About the speakers

• Gareth has been a web developer since the early nineties and a Serverless developer for three years. Now he is working to educate and help as many developers as possible get to grips with Serverless and build awesome software.

• Connor has 2.5 years experience as a professional web developer and has been pushing random code to GitHub since 2013. He's founder of Employbl and a Software Engineer.
