RV trip to Nelson, Kimberley, Grand Forks, and Osooyos. 11 day , 10 night trip for 4 to explore BCs Kooteney's. We will travel in my truck and stay in my travel trailer or tents. Itinerary: July 31st - Aug. 2nd: Nelson Aug 3rd - 6th: Kimberley Aug. 7th: Grand Forks Aug. 8th - 9th: Osooyos Aug. 10th - return home Travel and accommodation costs to be split 4 or 5 ways.

Tentative itinerary Day 1 Gibsons - brief walk along the shore/get something a bakery to eat walk some trails - Cliff Gilker Park 1 hr 2 km scenic waterfalls + Chapman Falls 1.5 hrs 4 km - 40 m elevation gain check in rental place 3:00 pm Smuggler Cove Marine Provincial Park 1.5 hr 4 km flat Day 2 Start the day early out by 7:30 am. Skookumchuck Narrows - 2 hrs 8 km flat Mt Daniel - 2.5 hrs 5 km 360 m elevation gain Pender Hill 1.25 hrs 2 km 175 m elevation gain Day 3 Sechelt & Gibsons - stroll along the waterfront ferry reservation. Horseshoe Bay/Langdale. August 7th 9:50 am; August 9th 4:15 pm Rental place has 3 bedrooms 4 beds: 1 king in one room, 1 single in one room, 2 single beds in one room. 2 nights. Each person pays $115.20 for 5 participants; $139 for 4 participants (no sharing beds). Ferry/food/transportation - extra. Full kitchen to use to make meals, individually. Rental Place: Beautiful family home with lots of privacy and extras. Enjoy the forest view from your master bath soaker tub. Listen to the birds on your private balcony. Located on a cul-de-sac in popular Welcome Woods area of Halfmoon Bay. Close to beautiful parks, hiking trails, and beaches. Easy walk to Welcome Woods Market for ice cream and other "essentials". The space Note: This listing is for the whole upper section of a house. This house has very nice full-time tenants living in a completely separate unit downstairs with their own separate outdoor space. The walkway to leave the property and parking are shared. It is likely that you would not see them while you are there but, like all apartment-like situations you can often hear them and smell cooking. Once payment is made, no refund if you cancel, however, you can find someone to take over your spot and this person pays you directly.
The "ol classic" Whyte Lake Wonder "song and dance" is back for a 5th or so crack at it this year. Please note: Covid19 - This will be a social distance event, maintain a minimum of 6 feet between hikers (no close "walking and talking" permitted) - maintain full 6 feet personal space at all times :}. Max 10 attendees, please do not show up if you are not on the "going list" Meet at 11:30 am in front of the Gleneagles Community Centre, 6262 Marine Dr, West Vancouver. There is free parking, next door at the golf course (if the GECC parking lot is closed). Description: We will do a loop. At the start of the hike, we'll get some interesting viewpoints of the ocean and the marina. Then we climb in the forest until we get to Whyte Lake. After taking a break, we come back via the Baden Powell trail to our starting point. Difficulty: easy Elevation gain: 240m Length: 7 km return Duration: 2.5 hours What to bring: - clothes appropriate for the weather - hiking shoes/boots NO RUNNING SHOES please. - poles if you use them - 10 essentials for hiking - water - snacks - smile :) Transit: Bus 250 (but not 250A) gets there from downtown Vancouver and there is a bus stop just across the street from the meeting point. Sold out ... 9:10 am gather at Tim Horton's 2054 Whatcom, Abbotsford. Elena is picking me up from my house in Abbotsford (address provided privately). Returning home around 8:30 pm if we have more places to explore along the way. Bring food items for the weekend whatever you need to eat for meals individually. We may eat out at the restaurants. Bring swim suits, sun lotion, mosquitos repellent, etc. If you like the idea of staying at a farm with 10 dogs 1 turkey and access to Shuswap river, this is the place for you. We stop by places along the way to Salmon Arm. We bring food to cook, there is a full kitchen, beddings, towels provided. Play card/board games in the evening. We hang out. $112 per person. 3 queen beds, 1 double bed. "Classic western saloon close to public beach and has access to Shuswap river,many farm animals,local store minute away and local pub 5 minutes away. Farm to table meat available for bbq. Wander around the farm yard and free access to Shuswap river."
