Live Band Swing Dance Party - Just like the movies!

Details

Join this hopping swing dance party with live big band! Great for those new to swing dancing and experienced dancers. The Ottawa Swing Dance Society does this the first Friday of every month. It's both a chance to check out this unique dance subculture and aspire to learn more. You can take their free warm-up lesson at 8:30 pm, and watch some of the best dancers around our region, especially towards midnight.

Please note: This is not a Funabalu organized event. We post this as a community service for singles, like youself, to suggest you enjoy one of the best things about Ottawa on Friday nights. The Organizer may or may not be in attendance, so if you are interested in meeting other Funabalu members, please post a comment on this event posting to connect with people who may resemble their photos, if those photos don`t show a sunrise, dog, or cartoon. The event itself may change, so always check the Swing Dance Society Calendar (http://www.swingottawa.ca/calendar) to confirm this event is happening.

After thousands of years, the evidence shows, the best way for men and women to meet is still through dancing.. Why wouldn`t you be here?

Swing Dancing is kinda like speed dating, except you are moving around, having fun, and meeting an active community of healthy minded singles and not-so-singles too. Unlike nightclubs, asking someone to dance does not infer you are interested in taking them home with you or spending the rest of your life together. It means you simply would like to dance together, kinda like the old days when people understood that dance was a valid way to get to know your community.

Why? Dancing is more fun when you have people you know to dance with. Funabalu promotes these kinds of outings as a community service, to promote a healthy way for singles to meet and enjoy an action packed life. If you may like to join us, but don't know how to swing or salsa dance, why not take a lesson?

The Ottawa Swing Dance Society runs a well-attended swing dance in a casual, fun atmosphere. This is a beautiful dance environment and a chance to meet the grooviest hepcats in town! It really is like watching a scene from an old movie from the 1940s.
