** PLEASE ONLY RSVP IF YOU’VE PREVIOUSLY BEEN TO FUNBERRIES EVENTS Film showing on Channel 4, Sunday 24th May, at 11.25pm Based on the experiences of its author, this 1999 BAFTA-winning comedy-drama takes a wry look at a Pakistani chip shop owner’s efforts to raise his kids amid cultural tensions in 1970s Salford with his English wife. Their seven children increasingly see themselves as British, challenging their father's rules on dress, food, religion, and living in general. You’re invited to watch the film (or record for watching later) and join us on Saturday to share our reviews over a glass of something... You’re also invited to create something (eg a drawing, or ‘prop’ of some kind) to reflect the film (optional). The funnier the better 😆 We’ll be using the Zoom conferencing app. You’ll find the link (meeting ID includes password) in the ‘Online Event’ box - only visible once you’ve RSVPd. When you click on the link you will have to download some software if you haven’t used Zoom before, so please do this before the meeting. Then copy and paste the meeting ID into the appropriate field and you will be in the meeting. Zoom gives us 40 minutes for free. If we want to continue we can log in again - let’s see how it goes.....
** PLEASE ONLY RSVP IF YOU’VE PREVIOUSLY BEEN TO FUNBERRIES EVENTS Love general knowledge? Know lots of interesting facts and general trivia? Game for a bit of a laugh? Why not join us online for an early evening of Trivial Pursuit? This will be from the 2000 edition which has questions from 2000 to 2016.... all brilliantly coordinated and managed by Aden, our excellent quizmaster.
