What we're about

We’re a social group for people in and around the West Kent area (Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Hildenborough, Southborough, Pembury, Hadlow, etc).

We arrange social events and evenings for people who love to meet others for a laugh and chat. Our events include walks, meals, music, quiz nights, theatre, cinema, comedy nights, house and gardens visits.

There are no Meetup fees and people of all ages - single, divorced, couples - are welcome.

WE DO ASK THAT, FOR SECURITY AND SAFETY REASONS, YOU PUT UP A FULL PHOTO OF YOUR FACE - NO SUNGLASSES..

So come and join us at an event soon, have fun and make new friends. We’re looking forward to meeting you.

(Please note that we operate a "three strikes" rule for No Shows, that is, people who RSVP to events and then don't turn up. As the group has grown more successful and numbers have swelled, No Shows have become a major problem. Be aware that if you do not show up to three events, you will be removed from the group.)

REMINDER: When you sign up for Meetup.com, all members of Meetup must agree to their Terms of Service . Section 5.2 specifically releases the Organizer and Assistant Organizers from any liability related to incidents that occur at Meetup gatherings.

Circular walk from The Wheatsheaf, Bough Beech

The Wheatsheaf

This is a 6.8 mile circular walk around Bough Beech reservoir. A new pub and a new route, so fingers crossed that they are both good.

I have booked a table for 10 at The Wheatsheaf for 1:30pm; please notify me ASAP by Meetup notification if you’d like lunch. The pub is dog friendly and you can use their car park if you're eating, otherwise please park on the street.

Starting promptly at 10:00 (so please arrive in good time), we'll do an anti-clockwise loop round the reservoir, passing through Winkhurst Green and the nature reserve. We'll walk as near to the water as possible, but there aren't many marked paths that go very close.

Most of the route is through fields, with a minimum of road walking. Total ascent is 180ft, so it's quite a flat walk.

Walk from the Anchor, Hartfield

Location visible to members

This is a different 6.6 mile circular walk from the Anchor in Hartfield.

Lunch is booked for 1:30pm at the pub; dogs are welcome and you can park in the car park if you’re lunching, otherwise there is street parking nearby. Please post a Meetup comment if you’d like lunch.

Departing at 10:00 sharp, we'll head east to Five Hundred Acre Wood, south west to King’s Standing via the Wealdway, then north west back to the pub via the Vanguard Way.

There is little road walking, and the route is a nice combination of fields and woods, with good views. There is one sizeable hill, and a total ascent of 620 feet.
