Abstract for Functional programming in Python?
How functional is Python? Is functional programming even applicable with the idea of writing Pythonic code & the Zen of Python? These things have been on my mind lately, since I have switched from Clojure to writing full time Python code. I will share some ideas on how to find a possible way to be both Pythonic, and Functional. I will demo how to get super fast feedback loops during development by using a thing called REPL Driven Development & keeping it Pythonic while adding functional patterns like Railway Oriented Programming.

Abstract for Virtual Machines for Functional Languages
Given two very different problems, and two different functional languages designed specifically to solve each problem, how does this affect the design of the virtual machine for the language. We will look at two virtual machines BEAM and Fate. BEAM was designed for reliable services with a high number of transactions. FATE was designed for secure execution of blockchain contracts. You will also get some stories from real uses of these machines.
