Open Source Spree with Scala Center (Functional Tricity #8)

Details
Ever wanted to contribute to Open Source, but never had the chance? Learned Scala, but still didn't have the opportunity to use it practice? Or you would like to simply meet other programmers, share insights and work together? Here's the event for you - Scala Spree
REGISTER HERE (https://www.eventbrite.com/myevent?eid=32813748806) it is for free! :)
Spree is a community event organized by Functional Tricity and Scala Center aiming to popularize Open Source. It brings together library authors/core maintainers and software engineers willing to contribute to OSS, where under the guidance of seasoned experts newcomers learn about the inner working of some popular tools and contribute to make them even better. For library authors, it's an opportunity to improve their tools and get fresh feedback. For other programmers a unique opportunity to contribute with help from experts and expand their skills. For everyone - great opportunity to meet and have fun!
As all community even it's free of charge and the only real requirement is the will to contribute! (Apart from computer to use, but you figured that out already.)
RSVP and observe the event, as we will be adding authors as we go. Few recognisable names lined up already:
-
Jorge Vicente Cantero
-
Jon Pretty
-
Łukasz Sowa
-
Marcin Rzeźnicki
-
Gabriel Volpe
For more details feel free to take a look at the official repo https://github.com/scalacenter/sprees or contact us.
Remember about networking breaks! In the middle of the event we also plan a lunch break with food for all participants.
