What we're about

This group is an opportunity for people to share their ideas, dreams, and experiences about becoming an expat. Maybe you want to talk to some folks who have lived outside the US before making plans yourself. Maybe you have a dream of living in a different country for a while. Maybe your work is asking you if you would like to join another office in another country.

My name is Christopher, and I am a former expat who lived in Spain for two years from 2013-2015. I intend to move back to Spain in the future, but for now, let's talk about the expat experience from all angles: BEFORE moving to another country, DURING an expat experience, and AFTER the expat experience is over.

Whatever your interests for moving, this group welcomes positive, like-minded folks who want to share ideas and discuss expat living. If you're interested in hosting a get-together, or co-organizing this group, then let me know!

March In-Town Future Expats Meetup

Golden Drops Cafe & Bakery

Hi, everyone! Our next Future Expat meetup is scheduled for Saturday, March 23, 2019, at 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. We will be at Golden Drops Café, a neat little coffee house with Latin flair (and great reviews!). Our goal is to create connections and share expat experiences and ideas. Whether you have definite plans or are just trying to figure out if being an expat is for you, the Future Expats meetup welcomes you to come out and meet some folks. PLEASE RSVP to help the planning process. Come join us for coffee and conversation! A few caveats: * We are all members of this group for different reasons. Please be respectful of others' perspectives and ideas. You know... be nice! * The cafe is kind enough to let us use their space. Please be considerate of their business, and plan to purchase something while we are there. * Meetups are all about meeting new people. If you see someone you haven't met yet, please go out of your way to welcome them. Plus, starting conversations with strangers is an essential expat skill! :-) See you there! Christopher
