FutureGov.AI is a meetup group that aims to demystify artificial intelligence and explore opportunities for application of emerging technologies in government.

Adopting Blockchain for Cannabis Licensing: OrgBook BC demo and presentation

UPDATE: We are rescheduling to an online virtual Meetup in late April - so please stay tuned as we confirm the new date/time. ------------ Please join us for a demo and presentation from the BC Ministry of Attorney General's Cannabis Integration Initiative. The project team will share their experiences adopting emerging tech, including the recent integration of private Cannabis retail licensing with OrgBook BC (https://orgbook.gov.bc.ca), an innovative business registry that leverages the Hyperledger Indy open source blockchain technology, a first for a government.

Social Justice Through Automation: Can emerging tech enable economic equality?

Journalist & science writer Leigh Phillips (Nature, Scientific American, New Scientist, Guardian, Telegraph) joins us for a presentation and discussion about how advancements in technology can enable democratic planning and decision making at vast scales.
