Level Up the Tech
At Futurice we only have one job. To create impact. Impact that serves everyone from end-users to business stakeholders, and hopefully society as a whole whenever possible or desirable. And we use our areas of expertise to co-create this impact. The overlap between tech, design, advisory and beyond in what we do is huge. In fact, it’s basically 100%. We simply approach things from different perspectives, which is exactly how it should be. The approach is not tied to a particular role or competence. It’s about a mindset. A mindset for thriving on change and taking a position of abundance and opportunity, never scarcity and limitations. This way of thinking is key to our shared success and shared happiness, now and in the future say Annika Sundqvist and Jaan Orvet and explains "Why Tech is Design, and Design is Tech" Andreas Harter thinks that collaboration is a key factor for the success of a software project, especially in open source projects. Andreas´ talk “InnerSource” takes a look at how internal source code can benefit from the best practices of the open source world. Last but not least, Robert Siipola will give a talk on Unicode. Robert will take a look at the different data science tools (e.g. Numpy, Jupyter, TensorFlow and PyTorch.) in the Python ecosystem, how they’ve evolved, how they’re being used and why they’re popular. There is a long history of using Python for scientific computing and analytics, but in recent years, Python has become the lingua franca of data science and machine learning. Much of the immediate popularity of the language is due to the rise of deep learning and its frameworks, like TensorFlow. Join us at "Level Up the Tech" in Norrsken House on October 9th at 17:00.
