What we're about

Google Developer Group (GDG)
When you join a Google Developer Group, you’ll have the opportunity to meet local developers with similar interests in technology. A GDG meetup event includes talks on a wide range of technical topics where you can learn new skills through hands-on workshops. The community prides itself on being an inclusive environment where everyone and anyone interested in tech - from beginner developers to experienced professionals - all are welcome to join.

WHAT IS GDG?

Google Developer Groups (GDGs) are for developers who are interested in Google's developer technology; everything from the Android, Chrome, Drive, and Google Cloud platforms, to product APIs like the Cast API, Maps API, and YouTube API.

A GDG can take many forms -- from just a few people getting together to watch our latest video, to large gatherings with demos and tech talks, to events like code sprints and hackathons. However, at the core, GDGs are focused on developers and technical content, and the core audience should be developers.

We’ll be kicking off these virtual sessions, designed to bring together like-minded developers and practitioners to share and further their knowledge of Google Play through interactive classrooms and discussion. You’ll learn how to write your app description and selecting what graphics, videos, and screenshots to add to your store listing, as well as how running experiments in the Google Play Console can help give you real user data on how to improve your store listing.

Google Play Academy Study Jams are study groups for developers who want to learn the tips and tricks to build apps that truly delight users. The curriculum is designed specifically to help Android developers and their team learn business-focused techniques on monetization, organic user acquisitions, optimization and much more, that will set them up for success on Google Play.

Move beyond user acquisition towards driving stronger engagement with existing consumers. Prioritize long-term, value-building engagement strategies over short-term tactics, and employ techniques to encourage sustainable business growth. Learn how your first-time user experience can set you up for success, how to optimize your experience to encourage regular usage, and leverage engagement reports to support strategic decisions.

-----------------------------

Telling your brand story through your store listing can attract more users to download and install your app. Providing an engaging app description, feature video and graphics, and great screenshots is an easy and free way to communicate your brand story to potential users.

Come together with like-minded developers and practitioners in sharing and furthering your knowledge of Google Play through interactive classrooms and discussion.

Join us on 19th and 30th Jan at 5 PM to learn the best practices of writing your app description and selecting what graphics, videos, and screenshots to add to your store listing, as well as how running experiments in the Google Play Console can help give you real user data on how to improve your store listing.
