Beep, beep, beep. Can you imagine a hospital without sensors attached to the patients? Nothing to monitor the vital details like heart rate or oxygen saturation level of the blood? It'd be difficult to stay aware of those metrics and to focus attention where it is needed.
Similarly with servers and other cloud computing resources it is important to monitor the digital vital signs to know where attention is needed, and which areas are performing well. In this quest on Google Cloud's Operations Suite, we'll be working with Cloud Monitoring, alerting, and metrics.
This is all about learning to manage your servers and services in Google Cloud Platform.
At this event you will get to practice working with Google Cloud Monitoring.
This week's hands-on labs:
Cloud Monitoring: Qwik Start
This lab shows you how to monitor a Google Compute Engine virtual machine (VM) instance with Cloud Monitoring. Watch the short videos Monitor Health of All Your Cloud Apps with Google Cloud monitoring and Monitor a VM Instance with Cloud monitoring, GCP Essentials.
Monitoring Multiple Projects with Cloud Monitoring
In this hands-on lab we take a look through some of the information provided by the Cloud Monitoring tools, and teach some of the concepts you will need to know to take advantage of Cloud Monitoring effectively.
You'll work through Google Cloud labs to get hands-on experience and when you complete each whole quest, you earn a badge for your LinkedIn!
With the help of great volunteers, Jeff Williams (Google Tech Lead - UC Berkeley) and Elaine Chan (CS - Western Michigan University) lead the group through weekly events using Qwiklabs to help you learn more about Cloud Computing and running your projects on Google servers in the cloud.
Invite a friend who could benefit, and we'll be happy to help them also get access to qwiklabs.com and to help them get started
Don't miss out on the fun on Wednesdays as we learn cloud computing skills, one week at a time, with a goal of helping you level up!
