Integrations add capabilities to our existing tools. Integrations with pretrained machine learning models can add surprising capabilities like sentiment analysis, handwriting analysis, etc.
Google Workspace offers multiple ways to integrate new capabilities into the core apps like Gmail, Docs, Sheets, etc.
Have you ever tried an add-on written by someone else and thought that they must be a genius to be able to make that work? What if I told you that you were only one event away from learning how to make an add-on, hands-on, with help from volunteers and classmates?
Integrating Workspace tools with Google Cloud APIs is surprisingly easy. In this quest on Google Workspace integrations, we'll be working with Apps Script to make a Gmail Add-on and to integrate Google Docs with Google Cloud's Natural Language API.
This is all about learning to add the power of Google Cloud Platform to the Google Workspace tools.
At this event you will get to practice working with Apps Script and Google Cloud's Natural Language API.
This week's hands-on labs:
Creating a Gmail Add-on
In this hands-on lab you create a Gmail Add-on that allows you to quickly change the labels of an email thread.
Using the Natural Language API from Google Docs
In this hands-on lab, you will use Apps Script to call the Natural Language API from Google Docs to analyze the sentiment of selected text in the document.
You'll work through Google Cloud labs to get hands-on experience and when you complete each whole quest, you earn a badge for your LinkedIn!
With the help of great volunteers, Jeff Williams (Google Tech Lead - UC Berkeley) and Elaine Chan (CS - Western Michigan University) lead the group through weekly events using Qwiklabs to help you learn more about Cloud Computing and running your projects on Google servers in the cloud.
Invite a friend who could benefit, and we'll be happy to help them also get access to qwiklabs.com and to help them get started
Don't miss out on the fun on Wednesdays as we learn cloud computing skills, one week at a time, with a goal of helping you level up!
