New Year message from gee!

Hello all,

We would like to wish you all a Happy Holiday Season and a New Year!

Many of you have been taking classes with us since our beginning in 2009 and know of our start with one art class on Fridays at Paint N Glaze. We have come a long way since then with many teachers and classes. We are now expanding to different locations through a turn of events in which Paint N Glaze has decided not to renew their lease for the space that we were using.

However it is said whenever one door closes another one opens. In this case, more than one door opened! Chris and her husband have so graciously offered to build a new “classroom” in the back of their current location. Our new classroom will accommodate 10 students with no problem, but some of our classes are bigger and some may need a different type of location altogether. This actually works well with our belief that learning happens all the time and everywhere. We are forever grateful to the Getz family for the love and support they have shown us and the community throughout the years.

As the new classroom is being completed, we thought this might be a good time to look around at other spaces in the neighborhood. So with the help of our gee! community, we’ve been able to check out a few spots. While we finalize the details, we have some new locations to tell you about.

As you may have noticed, we had a couple of classes at the Boy Scout Sea Base in Naples. Trish Tsoiasue has been so welcoming and will be offering some wonderful electronic/maker classes for us.

Ms. Erin’s English classes will now be located at the Lighthouse Church just down the street from gee! near the corner of Studebaker and Wardlow Rds. We want to thank the Bott Family for helping secure this wonderful spot. We know our families will love the attached playground, too!

Our Spanish teacher, Ms. Amy, has her own location now at Resurrection Lutheran in the Cal Heights neighborhood of Long Beach. Our language classes will now be there as maybe some of our other classes. Look for more info coming on that soon.

In the meantime, we will start posting our classes for the spring semester. Classes will start in the different locations in the next three weeks or so. You will sign up at as always. However, we also have a new website at as a way for us to get the schedule and other information out to you. There will also be links to guide new families to the meetup site.

We are excited as we start this new chapter of gee! Please let us know if you have any questions about any of the changes. Remember we have our new classroom at Paint N Glaze, but we will also be out in the community, as well. We believe this will expand the quality of the learning experience for our children and we look forward to seeing you at some of our new classes and locations in the New Year.

Wishing you a wonderful 2013!

Cindy, George, and Rachel Castro
