Speakers for the July 2021 GLAMR Wellington event at Pipitea VicBooks at 23 Lambton Quay – Rutherford House:

Tamsin Ewing from DIA -Digital Public Service will discuss Digital accessibility: Challenges and opportunities’

Vanessa Lyall and Justin Hoenke from the WLC – Waitohi Hub will share the obvious and curiously surprising facts to think about for true accessibility in a public library and

Wainui Witika-Park from CATALYST IT will discuss accessibility and the Koha library management system

The 33 Bunny Street entrance is the closest to the event.

Wainui Witika-Park
I’m a recent Computer Science graduate from Victoria University and started as a Developer in the Koha team at the beginning of this year. I have Low Vision and am passionate about Accessibility.

Tamsin Ewing, Content Designer, Digital Public Service, Te Tari Taiwhenua, Department of Internal Affairs (DIA)
Tamsin works on digital projects for Govt.nz and Digital.govt.nz. She’s currently leading an initiative to improve guidance in New Zealand on meeting the Web Accessibility Standard so that digital information and services are accessible to all.

Vanessa Lyall
I came to Waitohi as the hub coordinator a month before the opening in December 2019. My role is help the business units within the hub working together as more of a connected unit. Waitohi consists of Johnsonville library, Keith Spry Pool, Waitohi kindergarten, Common Ground Café, and the Johnsonville Community Centre (not physically connected). My role also includes coordinating community events, exhibitions and onsite activities.
