The trouble with my uncle, Rick Santorum
By John Garver 2:00 PM 01/03/2012

If you want another big-government politician who supports the status quo to run our country, you should vote for my uncle, Rick Santorum. America is based on a strong belief in individual liberty. My uncle’s interventionist policies, both domestic and foreign, stem from his irrational fear of freedom not working.

It is not the government’s job to dictate to individuals how they must live. The Constitution was designed to protect individual liberty. My Uncle Rick cannot fathom a society in which people cooperate and work with each other freely. When Republicans were spending so much money under President Bush, my uncle was right there along with them as a senator. The reason we have so much debt is not only because of Democrats, but also because of big-spending Republicans like my Uncle Rick.

It is because of this inability of status quo politicians to recognize the importance of our individual liberties that I have been drawn to Ron Paul. Unlike my uncle, he does not believe that the American people are incapable of forming decisions. He believes that an individual is more powerful than any group (a notion our founding fathers also believed in).

Another important reason I support Ron Paul is his position on foreign policy. He is the only candidate willing to bring our troops home, not only from the Middle East, but from around the world.

Ron Paul seems to be the only candidate trying to win the election for a reason other than simply winning the election.

This year, I’ll vote for an honest change in our government. I’ll vote for real hope. I’ll vote for a real leader. This year, I will vote for Ron Paul.

John Garver is a 19-year-old student at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. John is a strong supporter of Ron Paul despite his love for family member Rick Santorum.

I respect your strong belief in Ron Paul (although he's my 3rd choice) and with no offense this Post by his 19 year old nephew just doesn't cut it for this 55 year old that's been following Politics and watching our country go down the tubes for sometime. I don't think most people over the age 40 are going to listen to some 19 year old. He's a baby in Politics, what the hell does he know that I don't? And I'm pretty sure their's a lot more under the age of 40 that will not listen to this either. It doesn't make a difference "who he is". It could be Rick Santorum's son and it still would NOT make a difference. Ronald Reagan had a daughter (Patty) who was NOT behind him. "So what!" said the Country........he ended up being a VERY GOOD President despite what his daughter thought! Track Record of the Candidate is the Key. (Track Record of how the person lives and who his friends are matter too!) We all know and understand we have NO PERFECT Candidate at this time. We did when it was Michele Bachmann, but people are so used to living in a Soft Socialist world, they just couldn't see it. That proves to me, we'll never get it straight and sooner or later we will be ONE WORLD ORDER. Just praying I'm dead when it happens.
ALL of the GOP Candidates are better than Obama/Hitler. How come I never see you at our GNOTP Meetings, Susie? There so much info to learn of our history, AGENDA 21 happening in our parishes in our own State, etc. We have GREAT SPEAKERS with info., you will NEVER hear elsewhere. It's a learning process for ALL of us. That 19 year has no idea of the WEALTH of info he can learn and speak on that instead. We all have a relative that doesn't like us. It's common in today's society, (not that I condone to that behavior). What else is new?

Jane, it's all about The Constitution. Not one single candidate running is more observant and respectful of Our Constitution. THAT should be your one and only consideration of a candidate for President. If it isn't you are part of the problem and NOT the solution.

Another thing, none of the other candidates EXCEPT Romney even bothered to file in all 50 states. How serious were they about winning really? I can tell you my one and only vote will be for The Constitution. Without it we are nothing. And if Republicans were serious about beating Obummer they would consider that they will never do it without the Independent vote and crossovers from the Dem party. The ONLY candidate that can do that is Ron Paul so if your ultimate goal is beating Obummer you can't do it without Ron Paul.

You're correct Susie, The Constitution is what it's ALL ABOUT! Agree 100%, that's why after searching the TRACK RECORD of each one of the candidates, listening to Conservative Experts and CONSTITUTIONAL Attorneys, Rick Santorium is my choice when it comes (and their's too) to the way he followed THE CONSTITUTION the MOST. Santorium has been VOTED # 1 for following The Constitution. Ron Paul is second, and I agree Paul is a VERY GOOD man, more than Newt and Romney by all means. What I LOVE about Ron Paul is get rid of EPA, Dept. of Education, DOWNSIZE and/or CLEAN up the DOJ, etc.
His Foreign Policies are scary though and not so constitutional. If Paul was President he supposed to PROTECT us but he rather discuss things over with people that are 'determined' to kill us and keep us isolated from the rest of the world. He doesn't believe Iran is a THREAT! WOW! IRAN has announced there will be a BIG EVENT this year AGAINST the West (U.S.). I guess Paul never heard that one. For some reason he seems to be in the dark when it comes to anything 'outside' our Country. I also don't do drugs, never did, so I don't believe in legalilizing drugs like heroin. I just can't bend 'that much' for him, since I have ALWAYS been AGAINST ALL illegal drugs, and I expect my President to PROTECT my Country.
By the way Susie, I am choosing a Candidate based on who has a TRACK RECORD for following the Constitution the MOST. I think a lot of people are, but a lot of people are NOT doing their homework themselves and let other people sway them into the way they think.
I'm certainly not saying Santoruim or Paul if one of them wins will SAVE this Country. I'm too up in age and have been following politics for 37 years, to know better, although I admit I don't know everything. Only GOD and his people turning to "HIM" (which they are NOT) will Save this World. GOD is number ONE, politicians are like used care salesmen, do I need to say more.

lady, you need to do better research if you only use the conservative talk show hosts to do your intelligence gathering. they all work for bain capitol via clearchannel so they are going to tell you whatever their handlers tell them to. fox got a court to say they could lie to the public. so where is it you get your wonderful information? from Santorum mailers? lol

Santorum got more money from lobbyists than any other Senator thats why he got canned by Pennsylvania among other things. He also was in charge of making sure our soldiers were protected and he failed MISERABLY. I hope he rots for the lives he caused death to.

he is a TRAITOR as far as im concerned and i will do everything in my power to fight against his kind at all times!!

yeah, we are all going to become addicted to heroin if Ron Paul gets elected. lol, and if we do so what? where in our Constitution does it say you cant??? Ron Paul is 100% Constitutional, votes 100% of the time for the Constitution in Congress. so what bologna poll did you read that said he wasnt the most Constitutional member of Congress? you can be easily fooled if you believed it. then again, youve been brainwashed by the idiot box. the minute you tell people what they can and can not do with their own bodies you open the door for intrusion into your own choices over your own body. our country was founded on Libertarian principles by Libertarians. I am so very proud of that fact!!

and as far as Libertarianism goes, you people who don't like it wouldn't be voting for any of our founders these days if they were on the ticket. Thomas Jefferson was as libertarian as you can get and you all say you hold him in such high esteem. You sure you really know what you want???

i want liberty, freedom from Government intrusion and anyone else's intrusion. Ron Paul is the only candidate who even knows what that means or how to go about getting it back.
