FREE midweek Hike- Oyster friendly- Rolling hills of the Chess Valley
Amersham Railway Station, Station Approach, Amersham, GB### 🌄 Overview
This pretty linear walk through the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty takes us from the historic market town of Amersham along the meandering River Chess and through the scenic Chess Valley. Leaving Amersham Station, we pass through Lower Bois before joining the river, following peaceful footpaths past the well-preserved Weir House Mill and on towards Latimer Park Farm, once the site of a Roman villa. The route continues through Frogmore Meadows nature reserve and the historic Sarratt Bottom watercress beds, the last remaining examples of what was once a major Chilterns industry. Walking on good paths and tracks through rolling open countryside, we finish in Rickmansworth, where you can join us for a drink and some food or head straight home by train.
