ANCIENT EGYPT: The Self-Realization
M̶o̶n̶d̶a̶y̶ ̶O̶c̶t̶o̶b̶e̶r̶ ̶1̶4̶t̶h̶, (Thanksgiving Holiday)
Tuesday October 15th, 7:30 pm
We are still astonished by the great legacy left by the Egyptian civilization. Temples, pyramids, papyrus, engravings, mythology, etc., these great accomplishments testify that they posses a great knowledge.
Historians are still trying to understand the meaning of the different papyrus discovered in the monuments, like “The book of the dead”, “the book of dreams” or “The book of gates”. They try to understand those writings through their intellectual conception of life and reality and interpret them to the letter. However, if we want to understand the Egyptian legacy, we have to try to enter their universe.
In the pharaohs’ Egypt, words like God, Goddess, temple, priest, did not have the meaning that we give them today. The Egyptians used to live in an environment surrounded by Gods, Goddesses, spirits, demons, etc. and in a universe comprised of living beings rather than material things. The sky was not a lifeless space but a Goddess who conceived the sun every night and give birth to it in the morning.
Egyptians believed that the Soul is immortal and that our life in this world is just a passage… Their greatest aspiration was to purify their human nature and to unite with their divine part.
In this lecture, we will immerse ourselves in this universe and try to capture the essence of this incredible wisdom.
