We’re continuing our meetups starting Friday May 21st! We’ll be at the Heartwood Sound Stage (https://heartwoodsoundstage.com/) near Depot Park. The venue is amazing with a great stage, audio / visual, and free parking. The venue also has onsite drinks and food (via food trucks).
This month we have two presentations:
Mike Herchel will be presenting on “CSS: Things you can do when you don’t support Internet Explorer”. He will dig into new and upcoming CSS properties, techniques, such as scroll snap, position: sticky, the “all” property, as well as go into upcoming additions such as container queries and CSS Houdini.
John Tucker will be diving into Svelte JS (https://svelte.dev). Svelte is a radical new approach to building user interfaces. Whereas traditional frameworks like React and Vue do the bulk of their work in the browser, Svelte shifts that work into a compile step that happens when you build your app.
Afterwards, we will do “Show and Tells” where anyone can give impromptu 5 minute talks on what they’ve done, what they’ve learned, and if they need help with anything.
After the meetup, many of us will continue the conversations over food and drink. Everyone is welcome to join!
