Alteil: Horizons
Online turn-based tactics card game with a battle grid by creators of Star Ocean & Valkyrie Profile. Artists from Zelda & Final Fantasy

The original Alteil was released in 2004 in Japan and in 2006 in the states. The game features a large number of unique mechanics, creating to towards logical thinkers who are fans of tactical games where a lot can happen.

As the card genre itself became more mainstream and simplistic, Alteil's depth of play kept the users loyal and coming back for more.

Over time, the original Alteil's age began to show and the owners got ready to shut the game off. The game's original creators were able to procure the rights to their own game. My team put our personal funds together to get the US license to Alteil.  With the blessing of the game's original creators, we used the game's profits and our personal savings to create the sequel we always wanted to see. Updated graphics and cross platform HTML5 interfaces, new features, new mechanics, an engaging tutorial to get new users right into the action, and the like have already begun.

We spent a lot of effort making a sequel to one our favorite games, and need your support to help spread the word. We need support of our backers to help fund the completion of our development.

Alteil's selling points (aside from the art) are the  tactical depth of the game. Whenever you "click" to get the game at the next level, you realize there's another level of strategy to take into account.

Hi everyone,

Kickstarter Announcements

If you're one of our regular attendees and are launching a Kickstarter, you can now send me the info and the link for our mailing list! Just make sure that you've actually been to the group several times to help out others and playtest the game you're launching first.

Stack & Attack

As our first official KS announcement we present: Stack & Attack, which just went live:

Here's the message from Jeremy Burnham:

"We've just launched the Kickstarter campaign for our first game, Stack & Attack, which was designed & tested right here at the Cambridge Board Game Design & Prototype Circle. We'd love to have you take a look at our page and spread the word if you like what you see. Thanks!"

Happy designing,
