Wrap Up for Meeting 10/22/13

Greetings Designers,

We're going to try and send out these e-mails after our meetings, if you would prefer to not receive these messages let us know at: [address removed].

So, as mentioned on Tuesday, we're planning on expanding the group somewhat. We're not ready to announce the whole plan, yet, but we are certainly moving forward. If you're interested in helping in an organizational sense please drop Aerjen a line at: [address removed].

NESFA Game Night: November 16th 12:00PM-10:00PM. The New England Science Fiction Association is having a game night and inviting designers to showcase their games at it. It is a free event, they have room for about 5-6 designers. There will also be other games being played, and about 20-40 people. The folks at NESFA are looking for a mostly complete gaming experience, we would recommend against bringing a game to test. This might be a good opportunity to generate a little buzz if your game is mostly finished. The event is going to be organized by NESFA, and we've heard designers have some difficulty with the event structure before. If you attend the event, you may have to wrangle players in a "free for all" setting, which is, of course, not optimal. Pizza will be provided. If you are interested, please get in touch with their event coordinator (Michael Sharrow) at: [address removed]. Additionally, please shoot me an email as well with your intentions and the game you plan to bring.

Blind Playtest: Bob is still planning his blind playtest event, which should be a great opportunity to receive new feedback on your game. We'll release more details as they become available. If you are interested, you can contact us at: [address removed]

Knight Moves Board Game Cafe: A new board game cafe is opening up in Boston. The owner has let us know that he will be open to the idea of us having some of our events there, additionally the cafe would love to carry some "local game blends" from local designers. The cafe is slated to open November 1. You can check updates on them through their Facebook page:

Social Media and Pictures: So we're going to try and take more pictures at our events to give designers and playtesters a better idea of what we do. Tuesday's photos will go up soon (as soon as I can work the blasted thing). They'll primarily go up on facebook. We won't put designers names or names of games on the pictures to respect privacy. However, if you're interested in spreading word, feel free to comment on a picture of your game with the name, website, and/or kickstarter. You can find us on social media at:

If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. Until then, happy designing!
