The modern format encompasses all cards that have been printed in a core or expansion set using the modern card frame (http://mtgsalvation.gamepedia.com/Card_frame) (plus some others from Time Spiral (http://mtgsalvation.gamepedia.com/Time_Spiral)).
Sign up starts at 6:30pm and the event begins at 7.
Prize packs scale with the number of participants.
Construct your best Modern deck and come over to Game Theory to battle it out with other Magic players every Monday night at 7pm.
Come in to Game Theory every Monday night at 7pm for our Magic: The Gathering Booster Draft tournament. This popular format offers a level playing field for the game and lets you check out new cards at the same time. Unlike constructed formats, where you arrive with a carefully constructed deck ready to play, a booster draft allows you to build a deck from new cards as part of the game.
In a booster draft players each open a booster pack, pick one card, and pass the pack to the next player, who picks one card and continues to pass it along. Eventually, all of the cards are picked and the players repeat the process with a total of three booster packs. Players then build a 40-card deck out their chosen cards. and may add any number of basic lands to their deck.
Click here to learn more about booster drafting.
Entry Fee: $15
Prizes and store credit will be awarded for winners!
Warhammer Underworlds: Shadespire is a game for two to four players, in which each player takes their warband of fantastically detailed Citadel Miniatures and pits them against their rivals in battles across the dark city of Shadespire. It’s a game of strategy, fast-paced combat and devious ploys, and though you’ll find this an easy game to pick up, only the most experienced players will master it.
We always have a handful of players here hanging out and available to teach. Come check out this awesome game from the makers of Warhammer.
Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions is an exciting new trading card game available both physically and digitally for iOS and Android devices.
Choose your alliance and use your tactical prowess to build an unstoppable force.
Then take to the battlefield to destroy your opponent, and seize control of the Mortal Realms.
Take command of 1 of 4 powerful factions and recruit an army of legendary Champions. Deploy units and unleash deadly magical abilities, while completing quests to earn blessings from the gods. Only the mightiest of warriors will stand victorious in this battle for the Mortal Realms, that spans both physical and digital worlds.

Looking for a socially acceptable environment in which to quote The Godfather? Look no further! This is it! 2-5 players will be competing as rival mobster families to take control of NYC. Estimated playtime: 60-90 minutes. Recommended ages 14+
Description from boardgamegeek: Designer Eric Lang, known for his "dudes on a map" games, describes The Godfather: Corleone's Empire — a standalone big box board game with high-quality miniatures — as "thugs on a map".
In short, the game is a streamlined, confrontational worker placement game filled with murder and intrigue. You play as competing mafia families who are vying for economic control of the organized crime networks of New York City, deploying your thugs, your don, your wife, and your heir on the board to shake down businesses and engage in area-control turf wars.
In addition to the demo, Tuesday night is one of our two dedicated board game nights. Feel free to bring some of your favorite games, or simply enjoy the large collection of free-to-play demo games in our library. Please note: RSVPs do not guarantee a spot at the demo. We try to demo multiple copies where possible and we appreciate our friends who also sometimes bring their copies and help grow and nurture our gaming community. We will try our best to accommodate as many players as possible, as fairly as possible, but we cannot always accurately predict demand. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility. Enjoy game night!
Come play Star Wars Armada (or learn how to play, we'd be more than happy to demo) in a friendly environment. Our aim is to get a regular game night going to the point where we can do a league and/or regular tournaments.
Q: What happens when you combine tabletop medieval fantasy wargaming with football?
A: Guild Ball
Every Wednesday at Game Theory, join our community of miniature wargamers in a world of struggle that unfolds on the football pitch one play at a time. New players are encouraged to attend, observe and prepare to do battle.
Across the Empire of the Free Cities men and women play a deadly game controlled by the Guilds. They spill blood and sweat on the fields of glory for honor, prestige and power.
Guild Ball features a unique system that reflects the ebb and flow of a football match. As players perform and achieve in-game actions they generate Momentum which can in turn be spent on triggering special ‘plays’, shooting at goal or out of turn reaction moves.
Guild Ball’s core dice engine is designed to be fast and easy to perform, makes the game silky smooth to play.
