What we're about

Where do we meet and really connect with other gay men in London?

PHYSICAL CENTRAL LONDON VENUE MONTHLY + ONLINE MONTHLY

WHAT WE ARE:

CONNECTING - It is a place where you will be able to connect with other gay and bi-sexual men and where you can exchange your life experiences with them and your everyday feelings, no matter what those feelings may be - and also a place where you will be able to just be with others who live similar lives to you.

EXPLORING SAFELY WITH SUPPORT - It is a place where you will experience support and growth and where you can feel safe enough to explore and reflect your feelings and life stories. Sharing is at the heart of the group but you share however much you are comfortable with - you're in charge.

CREATIVE STATE REGISTERED THERAPY - It is a therapeutic discussion group which at times offers workshops and borrows elements from Creative Arts Psychotherapies. The group is based on the Creative Arts Psychotherapy/Dramatherapy and counselling work I provided ongoing for the charity Positive East in London.

TESTIMONIAL:

'Hi Dan I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the group meeting on Friday night. You have created a safe and open environment and everyone seemed to respond with complete trust and joy in sharing. I haven't been in that sort of group with so broad a range of people, and it was really interesting to share such an important part of their / our lives in regards to our dads' K.L.

ONLINE VERSION - Gay & Bi LGBTQ+ Men's Wellness and Support Group

£5.00

Dear members, new ones as well as much appreciated familiar faces,

This is a group which aims to support you during the pandemic where restrictions by the government is changing the way we live and feel. It is a fundamentally new and different time, which can be difficult to handle all by yourself. It is important that we are careful and together beat this pandemic but many single people, including the majority of gay men, do not live in what the government refers to as a 'household' which is a heteronormative way of seeing things. Join us x

There is still time to sign up for the meeting and you can do so until the very last minute. I hope you are all well and keeping safe still at this most surreal moment in time. We will meet online THIS FRIDAY at the usual time of 6:00 pm. This group is for men over 18 years old.

HOW TO JOIN OUR ONLINE MEETING:

  1. Add yourself to the actual meeting event. It has the date of the meeting written above and here you can also see the other members attending. The deadline for adding yourself is an hour before the meeting.

  4. Log into Zoom with your Zoom details: ID number and ID password ten minutes before the meeting starts. Please be considerate and be on time which is important because of the sensitive nature of this therapeutic discussion group.

After the very successful meeting we had May 2020 we decided to meet more frequently online - which became fortnightly. Meeting online has indeed proven a popular and very useful way of continuing our group, which used to meet in Covent Garden, and for us to check in with each other; and looking after this impressive little community we have established together where all are welcome.

It has become apparent that there are quite a few issues around isolation, feelings of loneliness and mental health during this very surreal and difficult time, alongside other new subjects which will appear organically each time, as we proceed with our fortnightly meetings.

FEE:

£5 is suggested as a voluntary donation for each meeting online, prior to the event, to help the group running during COVID-19
