What we're about
Where do we meet and really connect with other gay men in London?
This is a TWICE MONTHLY wellness - and support group for gay and bi-sexual men held in Central London.
The group is based on the Creative Arts Psychotherapy and counselling work I provided ongoing for the charity Positive East in London. New members are always as welcome as our much appreciated familiar faces.
The group provides an always friendly, supportive and safe space where your presence is always very much appreciated and your contributions welcome. Each weekly session will usually offer a specific theme, such as for example:
Isolation and family
Being in a relationship - is it important?
Love, sex, romance
Who am I - what makes me, me?
Do I feel I connect with others in my life to the degree that I want to?
How to find someone special?
What is it to be a man in 2018 - for you? Gender roles and gender fluidity
Our use of dating apps - what do we think of it? Can it be an addiction or is it sometimes a positive experience?
Monogamy - is it important?
Friends vs. sexual partners?
Age -gap - is it possible?
Discrimination among men who love men
Getting older (and gay scenes obsession with youth)
How out am I - work, friends, family, extended family, sports etc ? Living a compartmental life
..and much more.. (suggestions always welcome)
It is a place where you will be able to connect with other gay and bi-sexual men and where you can exchange your life experiences with them and your everyday feelings, no matter what those feelings may be. It is a place where you will be able to be with others who live similar lives to you; and a therapeutic discussion group which at times borrows elements from Creative Arts Psychotherapies. It is a place where you will experience support and growth. Feeling safe to explore and compare your feelings, life stories and emotions is at the heart of this group.
