• YES, It is REALLY Happening - Gay Geeks Meetup

    Carbon Five

After a looooong hiatus, we are ready to bring this group back and reignite our solidarity. We are the Gays, the Lesbians, the Bi-s, the Trans, and the Queers who all contribute to the tech industry. Our key speaker for this Thursday will be: Shar Ghoudsifar - Helpkin [ tech + design + business ] Helpkin is an app that allows you to trade babysitting and petsitting services with a network of friends and neighbors. It’s a beautiful app built with ReactNative + Redux Sagas & Firebase. Shar will talk to us about entrepreneurship, and what goes into building a consumer mobile app from the ground up. Rico Rodriquez Collins - Carbon Five [ tech + design ] The Sketch App API I’ll give an overview of the Sketch App API, the open-source network of plugins, and how to contribute to and create your own plugins, and how as a developer you should learn more about this essential design tool. Also, I'm sorry that this month's meetup is on the same night as JS.LA. I will try to ensure that it doesn't happen again. Hope to see you there! - 7pm - 7:40pm Mixer - 7:45 - 8:45 2 short presentations with Q&A - 8:45 wrap-up This being our first official get together in a long time, I would like to also poll the attendees and get feedback as to how frequently you would like to meet, as well as any particular topics you would like to see or present. On that note: WE ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR PRESENTERS. Please reach out to me if you are interested in presenting or Sponsoring. Topics are generally: 1.
