.NET Performance Profiling with JetBrains dotTrace by Valeriu Caraulean

You write it. Compile it. Run it. Deploy! Now it's live, running smooth and easy: crunching data, displaying screens, talking to database and other systems. Then, unexpected happens: you get few (many) more users, database keeps growing and new features are crippling the system with complex interactions. Congratulations: you got a new problem - performance! Somebody will say that performance is a feature that have to be tackled from beginning, somebody will tell to not bother until it's a real problem. But in any case, you will have to profile and optimize. Join this session to learn how to use one of the best available performance profiling tools - dotTrace from JetBrains. Basic usage scenarios, features overview, few tips & tricks to pick up - it will be a fun session that will teach you to understand, profile and optimize your code.

DSLs for HTML/XML with F# Combinator Library by Olivier Chekroun

During this presentation Olivier will show how to write "Domain Specific Language" in F # to generate HTML/XML files. These DSLs will be implemented using "Discriminated Unions" and a set of functions that will form a "Combinators Library". Similar approaches are used in FParsec, WebSharper, Suave, financial contract description and other popular libraries.

About Olivier: Olivier has been passionate about computer science since the beginning of the 1980s and the rise of micro computing. For 15 years he developed successively with the languages C++/STL, Java before adopting the .Net platform with C#, VB.Net and F #.
