Suzannah's summary:
In this talk I will describe the process through which I attempted to use time series data, in the form eye-tracking data, to answer a psychological question regarding anxiety related differences in cognitive processing of stimuli in children. All the data preparation and analysis was conducted in R, and I in particular focus on the eyetrackingR package. First, I will provide a context for my research question, and why we chose the particular methodology and analysis plan. I will then talk about how I implemented the analysis in R, including the problems I came up in terms of implementation in R and finding to most appropriate method of modelling the data to answer the research question.

Suzannah's bio:
I am a research psychologist currently working as a post doc within the Lausanne Perinatal Research group led by Prof. Antje Horsch. The group investigates perinatal mental health, specifically we investigate the impact of stress and trauma in the perinatal period (the time before, during and after birth) on mothers and their families. My background is firmly routed in developmental psychology. My research masters in development and socialization in childhood and adolescence and my PhD was on Cognitive processes and their association to Anxiety in young children. My talk will centre around this PhD work. My career so far has led me from the UK to the Netherlands for my masters, back to the UK for my PhD and finally my post-doc has brought me here to Lausanne.
