This is a meetup group for those in the DC area who like maps, GIS, OpenStreetMap, cartography and anything in between.
Started in July 2009, this group aims to keep the DC geo enthusiasts connected to each other for learning and socializing and probably some drinking.

Sudhouse DC, 1340 U St NW, Washington, DC, USOur August Event has been scheduled for Wednesday, August 12 from 6-9pm at Sudhouse DC (1340 U St NW, Washington, DC 20009).
Join us early from 6-7pm to grow your network, socialize and grab drinks and appetizers.
We'll start the program at 7pm and we have 2 GIS Interns that will be presenting:
Grace Braver: A Summer as a Solutions Engineer Intern at Esri: Technology, Teamwork, and Real-World GIS
Grace will share her experience as a Summer 2026 Solutions Engineer Intern at ESRI. Her presentation will provide an overview of ESRI, the role of a Solutions Engineer, ESRI's collaborative "Team of Teams" culture, and highlights from customer engagements, research, and innovation projects completed during her internship.Daniel Rozen: GIS internship experience at Fairfax Water
Daniel, a current Virginia Tech undergraduate student in Geography, will share a brief overview of his experience as a GIS Intern at Fairfax Water. His talk will highlight what he enjoyed most about the internship, what he would improve about the experience, and practical advice for future interns interested in GIS, utilities, or public-sector geospatial work.Please be sure to RSVP and Please share this event with your colleagues.
