Weather Mapping: September Meetup

Details
This month's GeoDC meetup will focus on weather mapping! Look back for updates as speakers are confirmed.
Weather maps can be informative and beautiful. Dave Cole (https://twitter.com/dhcole) will show the latest work MapBox is doing processing weather data from partners like Weather Decisions Technology and directly from the National Weather Service's Doppler Radar stations into fast, interactive web maps. Ian Livingston (https://twitter.com/islivingston) of the Capital Weather Gang will talk about map usefulness in weather communications. Dave Guarino (https://twitter.com/allafarce) of Code for America will talk about using the Weather Underground API to do silly things (like avoid the fog in San Francisco!)
Juan Thomassie (https://twitter.com/jthomassie1) from USA Today will show his work building a live hurricane storm tracker.
We'll meet at 7:00 pm at the upstairs bar at Stetsons at the intersection of 16th and U Streets NW. Introductions and lightning talks will start at 7:30 pm. Presentations will be followed by lots of time for questions, follow up, networking, and beers.
Stetsons is a 21 and over venue. If you're not yet 21 but want to attend, message us via meetup and we'll do our best to get you in.
GeoDC meets on the first Wednesday of the month to socialize, network, and hear about the work people are doing with maps, GIS, geodata, and more. Join this meetup group, follow @Geo_DC (https://twitter.com/geo_dc) on Twitter, and join our Google group (https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!forum/geonerds-dc) for updates.
Do you have something you'd like to share with the group? Let us know!
