April Meetup: Lightning Talks

Details
On the first Wednesday of the month, we gather to socialize, network, and hear about the work people are doing with maps, GIS, geodata, and more.
This month we'll be getting an assortment of lightening talks together. Come on out to hear:
William Hurley of Forum One (http://www.forumone.com/) talk about this year's release of County Health Rankings. He'll be talking about rendering dynamic tiles with Mapnik and Tilelive. Taking user criteria and turning them into maps on-demand and scaling that to support a major site launch.
Kevin Webb of OpenPlans (http://openplans.org/) will talk about OpenTripPlanner and their transit analysis extensions. Someone from MapBox (http://mapbox.com/) will demo new custom styles (http://mapbox.com/blog/custom-styles-mapbox-streets) for the MapBox Streets (http://mapbox.com/tour/#maps) world base map. The feature allows you to choose from 12 different map styles and change the colors of land, water, areas, and streets on your map via a color switcher, giving a new level of design flexibility to online web maps.
Also remember to join the google group (http://groups.google.com/group/geonerds-dc?hl=en?hl=en) if you want to keep up with the conversation between meetups.
