Please join us New years eve at 3:00-4:00 PM to pick up the roadside trash and other rubish that comes off of the decorated Christmas trees. As we noticed during the decorating of a geocaching themed tree on the hillside there is always huge need for a clean up in this area. That is before the rain and wind blow off the ornaments on some of the decorated trees, which we will also clean up. A warm up event will follow.
Every year hundreds of trees are decorated along Hwy 360, they are part of a Austin tradition and fun to look at as you drive by. Unfortunately this tradition contributes to garbage and derbis ending up in the enviromentally sensitive area of the balcones woods watershed. We will do our part to prevent that from happening. We will be on the oppisite side as last years event, as this side needs more attention. Please bring your grabbers and gloves. Cleaning broken glass from the less responsible tree decorators is likely. This event will cover varied, and slippery terrain on a steep hill side and next to a very busy road it is not suitable for your youngest cachers or pets. Be safe everyone! Davo and I will provide bags and haul away the garbage
