Howdy campers! After the Spring and Summer we have been through, I'm more than ready for Fall camping season! I'm excited to be heading back to Georgia Veterans State Park. It’s one of my favorites...lots to see and do. Due to the continued pandemic, attendance will be limited and social distancing will be required. Masks will not be required as long as social distancing is followed. In smaller areas where social distancing can not be followed, masks are recommended. (ie, under the picnic shelter making meals for example). Further, there will be NO group meals unfortunately. Individuals will need to handle there own meal prep and clean-up. Campsite We will be in the Premier Pioneer Campsite. There are directional signs to site or the park office can provide a map. The site does have potable water, electricity and a covered picnic shelter. There is also a bathhouse with bathrooms and showers. **Once you arrive at the park, please get your $5 parking passes at the park office prior to coming to the campsite Tentative Schedule Friday, Sep 25 -. Once at camp, set up your tents wherever you like but please try to spread out. Closer to the campfire will be louder in the evenings to keep this in mind. Dinner is on your own. In the evening, we’ll do a small fire, music, beverages and enjoy the evening. Saturday, Sep 26 – All meals for the day are on your own. For Saturday day, you are free to spend it as you like. The park has numerous activities including disc golf, fishing (license required), archery range ($5 and bring your own equipment), boating (canoe, kayak and pontoon rentals available), swimming, hiking and golf. The park also has an excellent military museum open 8am-5pm. It displays medals, uniforms, weapons, vehicles and airplanes from the Revolutionary War to the Gulf War. Of course, you can also lounge around camp, nap and read a book. In the evening, we’ll do a small fire, music, beverages and enjoy the evening. Sunday, Sep 27 - Breakfast is on your own.
