We'll hold our next meetup at Forest Room 5, which is a cool bar in Highlands with a good room at the back that we can use for free.
Jason Sanford will talk about his experience building a weather alert notification system using Google Latitude and the National Weather Service weather alert feed. Some technology used includes Heroku, Django, Shapely, Twilio and SendGrid.
Mike Tafel will give a summary of various cool things he saw at the recent FOSS4G (Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial) conference in Minneapolis.
Nate Irwin may give a similar short update on the OpenStreetMap US conference, which he will be attending just before this meetup.
And Peter Batty may give a presentation either on using web mapping to help with recovery from Hurricane Sandy, or give a quick overview of options for building simple web mapping applications, depending on time available and audience interest!
