What we're about

We are a fun, lively and social book club that meets the last Wednesday of every month in Los Angeles. We are independently run, open to all ages of women and men and are not limited by any particular genre or category of books. If you have a passion for reading, love meeting new people and enjoy great conversation then we encourage you to Get Lit!

We often get asked how we choose our books. At each meetup we ask the group to nominate 4-6 books and we put up a poll on the meetup site for anyone to vote on. Books that are not selected can be nominated again or sometimes we do a runner-ups poll when we are light on nominations.

March Meetup - Kindred

Original Farmer's Market

We will be reading "Kindred" by Octavia E. Butler for our March 2019 discussion, www.goodreads.com/book/show/60931.Kindred­ To be fair to our more active members, we are posting the selected book in advance to allow time to borrow from the library, etc. RSVPs will open approximately one month before the event. If you plan to attend please RSVP, and feel free to come even if you are on the waitlist! Location will likely be upstairs on the north side of the Farmers Market if it's not too cold. There are several staircases; find the ones located near The Refresher (soda stand) and Magee's Kitchen. Arrive anytime starting at 6:30pm, the discussion will begin after 7pm when everyone has their food. For those who have never been, The Farmers Market is an open air food hall with all different types of food stands. We'll give everyone a chance to get their food and then start the book discussion. Please make sure to park in the open Farmers Market lot and NOT the parking structure. The restaurants will only validate for the open lot.

April Meetup - Asymmetry
