What we're about

Hello Fellow Citizen! Do you want to Get-Outside? Well, so do we!

Getting outside is not just a hobby, it is a lifestyle. It is not only about leaving our houses, but expanding our horizons. When we leave the usual and normal and explore as yet unexplored possibilities with innovative spirit, we are getting outside!

There is increasing evidence that regularly getting outside our usual physical, intellectual and social environments is not only just fun, but better for our overall health (1). Come join our merry band as we explore the community and socialize in a healthy way through Auckland and New Zealand.

Our group is a community venture to promote healthy activities and socialization in New Zealand. It aims to provide an safe social environment for anyone interested in getting away from the usual grind.

Getting outside physically can have many benefits for the body, mind and spirit. It promotes regular social exercise, which is good for the body and heart; It encourages mindful awareness which is good for the mind. And spending time connecting with Mother Nature can have a deeper significance for some.

So if you're interested in getting out of the usual grind with community events including hiking, mindfulness, beaches, kayaking, water sports, and other fun social things, come join us now!

We started this group because we believe getting outside our usual lives is good, and want to meet like minded people who are passionate about it.

So what are you waiting for? Come join us now! :)

=====================================

Get-Outside is always looking for more motivated people to help run events. If our goals sound like something you'd be interested in please contact Ari with a private message to talk about it ~ Peace ~

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please note that this group is NOT a singles or a dating group. While we accept that these things do depend on chance, we suggest that if your primary aim is such, you look to joining a different group. We look forward to seeing you and having safe and social FUN!

Shared Music Night: Bringing HOPE ~ Mindful Listening with Get-Outside

Dear Friends of Get-Outside! Are you keen to listen to some music together as a group? We started these sessions earlier this year, and they have worked out surprisingly well! We will be providing one piece of music and then sharing music pieces around the group. It would be great if you could provide the name and preferably a link to the piece of music (from Youtube) you wish to share with the group. Please note that if we have an oversupply, then we will be going with whoever RSVP'd with the required details first. Please state how long the piece is and choose something that will be conducive to mindfulness. These details can be put in the question and answer section when you RSVP :) Don't worry if you are a newbie to music, you're also welcome to just come along and listen in!! You will need access to ZOOM and the ability to open another browser with some earphones handy. Further instructions will be sent when we meet up online. If it goes anything like the last ones, it will be FUN! Feel free to bring a peri concert snack and an active imagination. We usually have an intermission part way through for a toilet break. Please note that the ZOOM link for the meeting will be sent when you RSVP. Looking forward to seeing you (online) soon! In the joy of friendship! Aritra. NOTE - Get-Outside strongly encourages healthy hygiene habits and safe work practices including safe socializing. Please respect any current lock-down restrictions.
