Hi Get-Outsiders! Let's celebrate happiness at the beautiful Waitawa Bay Regional Park.
We will meet by the Columbus Coffee end of the Mitre 10 Mega Store at Mount Wellington at 7.30am, leaving to drive to Waitawa Bay at 7.45am. We expect to arrive at Waitawa Bay (Te aroaro carpark) for 8.45am walk start time.
Plan for the day:
• Walk the Puuweto Loop Track (approximately 2.5 hours).
• Lunch along the way.
• Spend some time on the beach for the afternoon, read/relax and/or engage in something creative (a canvas will be provided).
Bring packed lunch, drinking water (at least 2 litres), sunhat, sunscreen, walking shoes, suitable clothing for the weather, raincoat, togs and towel (if you want to swim), jandals (for at the beach only).
Please note NO DOGS are allowed on this trip.
• Distance from CBD: 50km to Waitawa Bay.
• Meet: 7.30am meet up outside Mitre 10 Mega Mount Wellington, we will be leaving no later than 7.45am. If you want to meet us at the park, please plan to be at the Te Aroaro carpark by 8.45am at the latest.
• Difficulty Rating: Moderate - some steep climbs (but the views are worth it!)
• Suitability: Suitable for people with reasonable fitness.
• Completion time: We expect to leave Waitawa Bay by 1pm, back at Mount Wellington by 2pm.
• Footwear: Proper walking/hiking footwear please. Jandals are not suitable for the hike, but bring them for the beach if you want.
• Drinking Water: Please bring your own (2L advised).
• Toilets: There are public toilets along the way.
• RSVP to this event: Please only RSVP Yes to this event if you are genuinely intending on coming. If your circumstances change and you are unable to attend please change RSVP asap to allow other people the chance to attend. Once available spaces are full for the event there is a waiting list option you can join. If you RSVP and don't show up or contact us, it will be treated as a 'No Show'. If you don't show up without contacting us you may be removed from the group.
• Cellphone Coverage: May be patchy in places.

MAIN DETAILS:-
• Parking: Te Aroaro carpark, if you are leaving your car at Mount Wellington you will need to park on the street.
• Transport/Car Pooling: If you can offer rides to people or wish to request a ride please mention this under the 'Conversation' section below and contact each other from there.
• Costs: Free event, however we suggest you contribute towards petrol costs for your driver (recommend at least $10 per person to cover petrol/toll road costs).
