Getting outside is not just a hobby, it is a lifestyle. There is increasingly new evidence that getting outside is not only just fun, but better for our physical and mental health (1). Come join our merry band as we explore the outdoors through Auckland and its surrounds.
Our group is a community venture to promote healthy activities and safe socialization in New Zealand. It aims to provide a safe social environment for anyone interested in getting away from the usual grind.
Getting outside can have many benefits for the body, mind and spirit. It promotes regular social exercise, which is good for the body and mind; It encourages mindful awareness which is good for the mind. And spending time with Mother Nature can have a deeper spiritual significance for some.
So if you're interested in hiking, mindfulness, beach walking, climbing, kayaking, water sports, adventure activities and other such things, come join us! All levels and ideas are welcome, and we aim to cater to a wide range of ages and abilities.
We started this group because we believe getting outside is good, and want to meet like minded people who are passionate about it.
