Kings Mountain Hiking Trail Day Long Hike 16 Mile Loop
This Hike is LONG! The temperatures will be HOT! The terrain is quite easy, but the hike is rate moderately difficult due to its length and it will be a beautiful stroll through the Park. We will begin at the National Park Service Visitor Center parking lot at 2625 Park Road.
This loop provides some gorgeous hiking through rolling hills and granite outcroppings. We'll travel through the site of the famous Revolutionary War Battle, Kings Mountain National Military Park as well as the adjoining, Kings Mountain State Park. The Trail winds through hardwood forest and along a stream toward the Battlefield.
Three Reminders: Bring food/snacks and adequate water (at least 2 liters), dress appropriately ( Current forecast: temps 73°-89° & rain showers ), wear comfortable athletic shoes.
Since the park closes at 5:00 pm, we must average about 2 mph in order to get our cars out of the gated parking lot.
Pets are welcome on a leash no shorter than 6 feet.
