Let's Hike Green River Gorge and Bear Branch Loop!

This is a strenuous Hike as we will gain 1,100 feet in elevation in just the first 1.5 miles; 650 feet of that comes in the first .75 mile. Overall we will hike just over 8 miles and gain about 2,000 feet in elevation -But we will be rewarded with views of the Green River Gorge We will hike down to the river itself and have our lunch at the base of the “Narrows” section of this raging whitewater. Kayakers from around the globe come to run this very intense part of the river. Car-size boulders dot the banks and are in the river as well.This hike is located on the 10,000 acre Green River NC Gamelands in Henderson County. We will keep a reasonable 2 mph ave. pace. Be sure that you are in very good shape before signing up to do this one.
