Hike Details - We are going to do a half-day hike around the Humpback Rock area along the Blue Ridge Parkway. This is one of the most popular hikes in the Charlottesville area. We are going to meet shortly before noon at the Fontaine Research Park to form carpools to the Humpback Rock Area on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We are going to go with the four mile loop hike that ties in the Appalachian Trail. We are going to have multiple options that can be added onto the loop depending on how everybody feels. We can add in more vistas and overlooks. We can go to the Glass Hollow Overlook or we can go soutbound on the Appalachian Trail to two more vistas. We can hike to one vista, two vistas, or three vistas to the 4 mile loop hike depending on how the group is feeling. I have been to all three vistas, and they are all amazing vistas. This will increase the mileage from 4 miles up to possibly 5 or 6 miles.

As is tradition with my hikes, there will be an optional post hike at a local restaurant or brewery. Carpools can be arranged accordingly for those, who wish to partake in the post hike.

What to Bring - Broken in hiking boots, two to three liters of water, permetherin, moisture wicking clothing, sunscreen, snacks/light lunch, camera/phone, trekking poles, a couple of dollars for your driver, first aid kit
