Wintergreen Resort's hiking trails are open to the public. We'll start with a short hike from the picnic area along the AT to Wintergreen Resort. A short trek down the road to a moderate hike along the Upper Shamokin Falls and Gorge until we hit the old AT. Following the old AT to the Blue Ridge Parkway, we cross over to the "new" AT and hike to a fantastic overlook with 180 degree views. Then back on the AT to the cars at the Humpback Picnic parking area.
Moderate, but maybe should be moderate strenuous, because of rocky trails, boulder climbing in the gorge, a bit of plank walking thru wet areas.
