Super Bowl Special, Leading Ridge - Optional Pinnacles Hill Climb

How do you prepare for the Super Bowl party food coma that awaits us on Sunday?
This four mile roundtrip VERY STRENUOUS climb should do the trick!
Leading Ridge is calling all SNP500 Hikers and quad burning enthusiasts that want to burn a few calories before the big game.
We will park at the Jewell Hollow Overlook to begin this adventure and then head north on the AT before beginning our 1,740 foot descent in 1.4 miles to the Park boundary only to turn around and climb all the way to the top of the Pinnacles for a 2,100 foot elevation gain before returning to the cars.
This is one of the steepest trails in the park so everyone will start on the waitlist and must answer the following questions to be considered for this hike:
When and what was your last strenuous hike?
What is your favorite Super Bowl memory?
Pace: we will descend as a single group and expect several small groups to move at varying paces back to the top. I plan on sweeping and will ask a volunteer to lead the way to the top for the fastest hikers.
Hike time: anywhere from 3 to 4 hours
What to bring: layers, snacks, 2 to 3 liters of water, first aid kit, hiking sticks, sturdy footwear, soundtrack to "Staying Alive (optional)."

Post hike rehydration at the Trading Post in Sperryville.
This will be a Lucky 7 hike. Seven spots for Hiking Cville hikers and seven spots for Blue Mountain hikers in a separate event. I will drive with the Cville group and meet at the UVA North Research park no later than 0730.
And yes this will be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather - rain or snow.
