Sunset Hike Along John W. Warner Parkway

The enhanced bike-pedestrian trail snakes alongside the John W. Warner Parkway for 1.6 miles, from East Rio Road down to McIntire Park. It mostly lies on the route of the old Southern Railway. Points of interest along the pathway include the Dogwood Vietnam Memorial, one of the first memorials on US Soil dedicated to those who served in this war; and the native pollinator garden on Melbourne Road the future Charlottesville Botanical Gardens.

Saturday weather is supposed to be sunny, with temps in higher fifties.
Dress in layers, bring a hat and gloves.

Well-behaved and leashed dogs welcome. We will start from the CATEC parking lot. After the hike, we can go for the ACAC steam room or hot tub ;8-)
