GetHiking! Lake Brandt Piedmont Trail
Details
Come join us as we hike the Piedmont trail at Lake Brandt! The trail goes along the northern section of the lake offering a variety of views. One moment you're in a lush rain forest and the next a wooded wonderland.
This is a down and back hike at approximately 2.7 miles each way (5.4 miles round trip). It's mainly level and has some roots and uneven surface. We'll park off Lake Brandt Road and hike to the Strawberry Road end. There's a nice bench and good views to stop and grab a snack. Then we'll head back.
The hike is starting early to avoid the highest temperatures of the day. Bring at least 1 liter of water and some snacks. We'll be under canopy a good portion of the way but sunscreen and bug spray are always a good idea.
Parking is at: 36.174201, -79.838367
It's a small gravel lot on the same side of Lake Brandt as the marina -- on the other side of the dam. Reedy Creek trail parking is across the street.
