Johnston Mill Nature preserve is one of great natural spots in the Triangle preserved by the Triangle Land Conservancy. The 296-acre preserve includes a quiet stretch of floodplain forest along New Hope Creek snuggled up to an impressive stand of beech trees on a steep bluff. Lots of variety for a 3-mile hike.
