Another great Midweek Meander at the surprisingly diverse Johnston Mill Nature Preserve north of Chapel Hill. On this 3-mile hike we will start and finish along New Hope Creek, a rocky waterway more alpine than piedmont; hike through a farm meadow; walk atop a bluff protecting stalwart beech trees; pass through a hardwood forest that hints of the Appalachians.
