GetHiking! Happy New Year on the MST

Details
What would the start of a new year be without a hike? The start of a year that gets off to a not-so-good start. We're going to launch 2019 with one of our favorite hikes: 6 miles on the Mountains-to-Sea Trail along Falls Lake. Specifically, we will meet at the trailhead at Redwood and Tom Clark roads, then shuttle a short distance to the trailhead on Red Mill Road. This is a flat(ish) hike, but with low-lying areas that can get boggy: hiking boots are advised.
This is a late-breaking hike: Initially, we were going to piggyback on one of the fabulous First Day Hikes held at each of our fabulous North Carolina State Parks. However, the FDH in our area are short (less than 3 miles), and we know some of you prefer a longer hike to start the year. Hence, our late-breaking hike.
We won't take a lunch break on this hike, but do bring snacks. And two liters of water.
