Campbell Creek and Lanier Falls Trail
Difficulty: Moderate
Length: ~5.4 miles
Duration: 2 to 2.5 hours
Dog Friendly
Raven Rock State Park is off of Hwy 421 between Sanford and Lillington, NC. The park is best known for its namesake rock - Raven Rock. The Campbell Creek/Lanier Falls Trails are about 5 1/2 miles when combined and can be completed in 2 – 2.5 hours.
While hordes of visitors hike to Raven Rock, Campbell Creek Loop and Lanier trails are much quieter, featuring small streams hidden between ridges, an impressive river-wide drop called Lanier Falls, and the crystal clear water of Campbell Creek.
Come early to spend some time in the visitor center, which has maps, restrooms, water, and a small museum. The visitor center is Gold LEED certified and there is a small display which explains some of the steps taken to achieve the certification.
Our hike will start promptly at 10:05 am in front of the visitor’s center at Raven Rock State Park.
Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy after the hike if you like!
Rain will cancel the event.
