Intelligent Slime Mold Meetup

Physarum Polycephalum, or the many-headed slime, is a peculiar creature. You might know it from the famous TED talk of Heather Barnett: What humans can learn from semi-intelligent slime (https://www.ted.com/talks/heather_barnett_what_humans_can_learn_from_semi_intelligent_slime_1?language=en).

Science doesn't know whether it is a fungus, an animal or something else. It crawls on forest beddings looking for food and can stretch and shrink according to its environment. It pulsates very slowly, pumping nutrients through it's 'many-headed' body.

Well, we've got our hands on a sample a few months ago and it's still crawling around in some petri dishes in the ReaGent lab.

There's lots of interesting possibilities, going from timelapses to problem solving and alternative computing, as seen in the TED talk.

We thought it would be fun to come together with a group of people to see what tricks we can make the slime mold do! We'll brainstorm about some ideas and then get to action right away.

This event is open to everyone, you don't need to know anything about slime molds, so don't be shy ;)
