Volunteering for Hurricane Relief

Hey Ladys and Gents,

We all know what's been going on right now, and I urge everyone who has the time to get out and do some volunteering.  We were all put into a harrowing position recently, and not all of our friends and family have been restored to the comfort that the rest of us enjoy.  There are many that need our help, and their lives and ours will not be restored until we have all pitched in to make sure our neighbors are secure in the their present and futures.  There are many ways to get involved and contribute, you don't need to drop everything, but a few days a week of volunteering can change peoples lives.  Please put aside your smaller burdens and help someone else carry their load.

Ways to Volunteer

InterOccupy - Sandy Relief

Occupy Sandy is a coordinated relief effort to help distribute resources & volunteers to help neighborhoods and people affected by Hurricane Sandy. We are a coalition of people & organizations who are dedicated to implementing aid and establishing hubs for neighborhood resource distribution.  You can find places to volunteer all around NYC, Jersey & Long Island on their website.

Red Cross

The Greater NY Red Cross is donating thousands of meals, supporting and staffing many shelters, and helping out with communities all across the area.  Please do what you can to donate or signup for volunteering!

Red Hook Initiative

Red Hook is one of our local communities that was badly hit in the storm and took on feet of water.  Please checkout the Red Hook Initiative to see how you can help get our city back on their feet.

And please, ask your neighbors, your friends, and your friends neighbors if they are ok and if they need anything at all.  We're all going to recover together!
